GOLFTV is a new global venture from Discovery that will bring coverage from the best professional golf events to fans around the world. GOLFTV is creating a new, innovative digital platform to deliver live content and special features that will change the way golf coverage is enjoyed.
This role will support a number of initiatives for GOLFTV as it builds and grows a global Golf content platform. It will involve working closely with multiple groups, including strategy, growth, editorial, product / tech, sales and rights acquisition. The objective is to give the ideal candidate the widest understanding of how a digital product is built and scaled.
The role is analytical and will require some modeling and quantitative research/analysis. Interest in sports, digital media is preferred.

Position Summary
You will be an integral member of the UK Marcomms team supporting the Marketing and PR managers across the Factual and Sport channels. You will be involved in a range of activities including press and affiliate enquiries, assisting on high profile campaigns for brand new programmes and top Discovery talent, and supporting the Marketing and PR team in all its endeavours. Working to tight deadlines in the busy Post Production Services department, this role supervises a team of Editors (Avid Online) and GFX specialists supporting the in-house Post production facilities. The Technical Operations Supervisor is a liaison between internal and wider business clients and stakeholders.
The position requires solid technical understanding of the Avid editing platform and supporting infrastructure, including Grading (Symphony and Baselight), GFX, and audio (Protools). The candidate should preferably have hands on editing experience.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
The role has a strong focus on technical workflows and the ability to trouble shoot client workflows from production through to the post production phase, as well as define new workflow methodologies that drive further or new efficiencies within standard workflows.
The Technical Operation Supervisor will work closely with clients to ensure production media file formats are compliant within the Post and Broadcast environment. You will assist on special projects that fall outside standard workflows and that require additional support and supervision. You will also work closely with Post Engineering on technical projects and department requirements.
The Technical Operation Supervisor manages the induction and training needs for all new and existing edit, audio and GFX staff. The role also supports the technical development of the facility, playing a key part in defining new workflows and best practices and planning for the future needs of the business.
Working closely with the edit team the Technical Operations Supervisor will maintain high performance and productivity levels and define monthly and annual performance targets.
The Technical Operations Supervisor will collaboratively work with the entire post team to promote the post facility and the services we provide to our customers to best effect; by maintaining branded show reels, assist and participate in client tours and assist in the overall positive image of the department.

About the Ad Sales Department…
The UK Ad Sales Team are responsible for optimising and driving revenue for the UK business through Advertising, Digital and Partnerships, and for identifying and implementing new revenue streams. We work closely with every other department in the business including Scheduling, Marketing, Research, Creative, Programming and Digital Product Development. We connect and communicate with top UK advertisers via direct relationships but primarily through their media agencies. We are not involved in direct advertising sales which is handled by Sky Media, however we are responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with them which is worth a considerable amount.
No day is the same in the Ad Sales department, some days will be spent entirely responding to new briefs whilst others will be primarily project management.We are a small team which will open up lots of opportunity for you to engage with stakeholders of all levels across the UK business and with our Sales Representatives and Media Agency. In this role, we will look out for your unique strengths and then develop projects that capitalize on them. Some examples of successful projects completed previously include improving the look and feel of materials and delivering deeper understanding of our consumers.

About this department…
A Broadcast Engineer works closely with operational staff who are responsible for the transmission of live events across a range of Discovery channels. The engineer’s role is to identify problems and resolve them rapidly to maintain the highest levels of transmission reliability for the clients of the Discovery and Eurosport channels.

The Legal Director will draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts in close contact with other Legal divisions teams where appropriate (including Digital, Compliance, Distribution and local Ad Sales), M&A, Company Secretary and IP & Litigation). The role involves close liaison with the relevant senior commercial stakeholders, managing 2 direct reports (Legal Manager and Paralegal) and providing legal advice to the EMEA & ANZ business on a range of issues as well as occasional dispute resolution management.
