    GOLFTV is a new international destination for golf fans created by Discovery, the global leader in real-life entertainment and home of the Olympics in Europe, in partnership with the PGA TOUR. The first-of-its-kind digital platform, which launches in January 2019, will include a dedicated video streaming service, ensuring you can watch many of golf’s most exciting tournaments, players and moments anytime, anywhere on every screen and device. The new venture from Discovery will seek to create a worldwide home for all things golf, with new content and features added on a regular basis to build GOLFTV into the ultimate golf experience.

     

    General summary

     

    GOLFTV is looking for a Digital Content Operations Coordinator who will support the team in the day-to-day operations for Live or VOD content delivery. You will help coordinate training for team members and contractors on workflows and procedures to ensure methodical and consistent application. You will be a strong team player with the ability to work with all stakeholders involved to ensure a smooth operation.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with engineers, customer services and TOC for handing-off or taking over active support issues, prioritising root-cause fixes with engineers and creating a team specific knowledge base and skill set
    • Forward planning and booking of all circuitry, live stream encoders and satellite time
    • Content Management and editorial support within the CMS, drafting, editing and uploading copy and images; 
    • VOD - Ensure ingested video assets, images and metadata are available in the CMS. Applying editorial tags to optimise content search within the GolfTV service.
    • Maintain knowledge and provide hands support of all software tools relating to content operations. (Super Users)
    • Manage the operational run-books for events and services
    • Understand high-level technical aspects of existing systems and services
    • Ensure smooth playout of all live events
    • Liaising with key stakeholders to ensure emergency and contingencies protocol are carried out 
    • Work with commercial sales houses/inventory management teams to ensure the timeline requirements are met and break structures are compliant with regulatory body.
    • Scheduling and booking the freelance live operators
    • Remaining abreast of internal technical developments and provide testing procedures and coordinating live operations groups as required for Live.
    • Support the content ops team in the distribution and management of the TX schedules ensuring any changes are logged.

    Requirements

    • Previous experience of working in operational teams for large scale live events.
    • Knowledge of broadcast operations, video codecs and common streaming protocols.
    • Proven record creating editorial copy for news, sports or entertainment events
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely across different internal departments
    • Must be extremely detail oriented and able to work under tight deadlines.
    • Ability to suggest and make changes in Operations to improve on existing processes
    • Proven track record of juggling changing priorities to meet deadline
    • Strong organizational skills and an ability to work under the pressure with changing priorities. 
    • Flexible attitude to work with a ‘can do’ approach
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, creatively working through solutions to achieve results
    • Previous experience of successfully working within an international team, with various regions and cultures.
    • Strong organisational, administrative and coordination skills
    • Be flexible to work weekends and evenings as required.
    • A golf fan or a passion for golf would be an advantage
