    GOLFTV is a new international destination for golf fans created by Discovery, the global leader in real-life entertainment and home of the Olympics in Europe, in partnership with the PGA TOUR. The first-of-its-kind digital platform, which launches in January 2019, will include a dedicated video streaming service, ensuring you can watch many of golf’s most exciting tournaments, players and moments anytime, anywhere on every screen and device. The new venture from Discovery will seek to create a worldwide home for all things golf, with new content and features added on a regular basis to build GOLFTV into the ultimate golf experience.


    General Summary:


    Discovery has an opportunity for an experienced Live Content Operator to work in GOLFTV. Working in the GOLFTV Content Operations team, this role is responsible for managing multiple feeds and monitoring and ensuring quality standards for live golf events.


    • Execute multiple live streaming events concurrently providing feed source identification and monitoring ensuring quality standards are maintained and live feeds are running smoothly.
    • Provide times and countdowns to external content providers
    • Content Management and editorial support within the CMS, drafting, editing and uploading copy and images; 
    • VOD - Ensure ingested video assets, images and metadata are available in the CMS.
    • Apply editorial tags to optimise content search within the GolfTV service.
    • Understand high-level technical aspects of existing systems and services
    • Liaising with key stakeholders to ensure emergency and contingencies protocol are carried out
    • Consumer platform monitoring; review quality and performance of video on a range of iOS, Android and Chrome consumer devises.
    • Remaining abreast of internal technical developments and support testing procedures as required for Live
    • Supplying business with post live summary reports including any amendments to intended schedule


    • Substantial previous experience working with and implementing projects
    • Knowledge of broadcast operations, video codecs and common streaming protocols.
    • Proven record working in audience events for news, sports and entertainment
    • Excellent attention to detail for accuracy
    • Good communication, analytical and organisational skills
    • Have technical experience of operating various broadcast equipment,
    • Have operational experience with broadcast automation systems
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a live environment,
    • Must be a strong problem solver to ensure all issues are resolved accordingly for a smooth operation
    • Flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to learn new workflows quickly,
    • Have experience in troubleshooting, escalating and logging any issues encountered
    • Team player with an open mind
    • Previous experience of working within an international team, being sensitive to regional and cultural variations
    • Able to work on shift rota with shifts covering weekends and public holidays, as required.
    • Golf fan or passionate about Golf would be an advantage
