  • Position Summary

    As a Legal Counsel you will become part of Discovery Networks Denmark’s local Legal team.


    Your role will be to provide general support to the legal team, assisting with advertising sales/barter agreements, sponsorship agreements, competitions, standard distribution agreements and other commercial documents, primarily to support the Nordic business.


    Your work day will be busy and exciting, as we are a small team in a dynamic company.  


    • Assist with preparation and review of standard distribution agreements and other commercial agreements.
    • Draft amendments, breach letters, audit notifications and termination notices.
    • Liaise with distribution operations team plus affiliate sales teams in local offices to advise on legal issues and assist with contract compliance.
    • Work with marketing and compliance teams on competitions terms and conditions.
    • Conduct legal research for other members of the team.
    • Provide back up support for wider Nordic legal team (capacity permitting).



    • Strong academics – equivalent to Law LLM.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to work effectively within the legal team as well as with key stakeholders across the wider business.
    • Clear and concise communicator (both orally and written) with an ability to translate legal issues to commercial teams.
    • Well organized and with good time management skills.
    • Able to communicate in Danish and English fluently (written as well orally).



    • Good understanding of contract law.
    • Experience with commercial contracts.
    • Media/IP experience an advantage but not required
    • Sound commercial awareness, with a desire to learn about the distribution business.



    • A good team player with flexible hands-on-approach, as you will be a key provider of day to day support to the members of the legal team.
    • Ability to manage own time judiciously and deal effectively with competing interests.
    • Confident and approachable, with an ability to interact with clients from different cultures and backgrounds.
