  • Position Summary

    The position of Assistant Programme Planner is based in Feltham, Middlesex.

    Working primarily Monday – Friday, but when required weekends and outside usual working hours need to be covered remotely on an ad hoc basis to ensure the programme plan is implemented and assist the other departments when updates need to be made.


    Media management

    Media management is the practical tool used to implement the daily programme strategy devised by the Programme Planning Manager

    • Using the database daily creation and communication of record sheets, media ID lists and job sheets to ensure current and future programme plans can be delivered
    • Creation of the record sheets to be undertaken in conjunction with the Production Co-ordination Department to ensure all feeds are recorded for all production needs and by what means.
    • Liaison with the Library team to ensure all relevant recording/ edits/programmes are stored or archived for potential future use
    • Communicate all media management to all departments concerned including MCR + TX rooms

                       Programme Planning

    • Assist the Programme Planning Manager with the updates of the programming schedules, particularly for the short term window
    • Liaise with all departments and external sources to ensure start times and durations of events are correct
    • Communicate with clients to ensure prompt delivery of externally sourced programmes
    • Liaise with commercial + rights departments in Paris to ascertain obligations to deals made and ensure we fulfil those without negatively impacting on the local programming strategy
    • Plan with the Planning Manager the catch up/VOD schedules and distribute to external organisations
    • Produce and communicate a weekly contingency schedule in anticipation of underruns, overruns or other unforeseen events
    • Produce and present in conjunction with the ratings department in Chiswick a bi monthly ratings presentation in the schedules meeting
    • Use this ratings analysis to make informed programming decision
    • Awareness of other channels schedules


    • Assist the manager in the general preparation for the bi monthly schedules meeting
    • Assist the manager in researching potential new acquisitions and how they could be integrated into the existing schedules
    • Any other duties which may be required
