  • Position Summary

    The listings department is an essential function within a broadcasting business, providing accurate programme information to affiliate partners and the media on a monthly basis.


    The core responsibility of the role is the researching and writing of monthly programme highlights and billings for the 51 Europe and CEMEEA channel feeds.  The Listings Editor will also work alongside the UK Listings Manager to write and research billings for 12 UK linear networks. 


    The Listings Editor also works closely with other departments across the business including scheduling, programming, PR, Picture desk, digital and strategy & project management.


    • Working to tight deadlines researching, writing and editing programme highlights and programme information to submit for translation into local languages across Europe & CEEMEA
    • Working to tight deadlines researching and writing programme billings for the UK channels.
    • Liaising with Discovery’s international offices, production companies, producers, distributors and broadcasters to retrieve programme information from which to write highlights and billings
    • Day-to-day point person for external listings agencies e.g PA, Gracenote, EBS, Ericcson
    • Creating and issuing schedule change amendments and schedules for the UK channels.
    • Support scheduling and local offices by assisting with their programming themes and stunts, through creative brainstorming and marketing collateral.
    • Project management and editorial support for UK and European Catch-Up and On Demand teams. This includes writing and editing billings, regular progress checks with on demand project teams, and meeting with IBMS support team to future-proof listings team against developments.
    • Help facilitate any software upgrades and assist in technological developments.


    • Articulate, organised and enthusiastic with at least one year’s experience in a media organization, ideally TV
    • Excellent English grammar and spelling
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and strong typing skills
    • The ability to manage their time effectively and the proven ability to work quickly to tight deadlines
    • Ability to handle numerous tasks at one time
    • The ability to quickly understand and effectively employ the various specialized internal and external database systems used for managing and programme information
    • A creative approach to their work and the ability to remain calm under pressure
    • Excellent interpersonal skills




    • The timely and accurate delivery of programme highlights to Listings suppliers on a regular basis
    • A consistently high level of written work within the standards required by Discovery
    • The swift flagging of any risk to the business to ensure no drop in service
