  • Position Summary

    Working within Content Operations this role will lead a team of Content Operations Co-ordinators to ensure that all programme materials are made available for transmission with sufficient time to go through the required processes including ingest, edit and language customisation and that the finished programmes are delivered to the transmission facility to the required standards. 

     

    This role is responsible for leading a team of 5+ staff, ensuring that they are working to a high standard, following standard operating practices.   

     

    This is a varied client facing role; there are multiple clients within the West & CEEMEA business with different regional business requirements. Whilst this role will focus on an allocated LOB, LOBs are flexible and may change from time to time.

     

    The volume and geographic reach of channels within the DNE channel portfolios drives the complexity of the programming and languaging requirements; this role needs to fully understand the requirements for the LOB they support.

     

    A high level of communication is required to ensure optimum service is provided to business teams.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead a team of co-ordinators and supervise them in processing material through the end-end programme delivery workflow from organising the receipt of programme deliverables (including video, dubbing, subtitling and graphics) through the required processes to TX
    • Maintaining and documenting standard operating procedures and proactively initiating process change to ensure best practices are adopted
    • Guide team through goal setting process and monitor team performance throughout year
    • Oversee coordinator on job training and highlight development areas and areas of concern to manager.
    • Troubleshooting technical issues with programmes (including video, graphics dubbing and subtitle file) content.
    • Effectively communicate deliverables issues impacting on schedules to Reversioning, Programming, Planning, BSO, and TX teams.
    • Ensuring that all deliverable materials for language customization are available and sent to vendor in appropriate timelines and that critical deliverables are monitored and reported on
    • Play a major role in guiding and advising the Regional Programming and Planning teams on content availability dates, advising on feasibility of air dates and policing the adherence to scheduling timelines. 
    • Ensure PALM and any additional team tracking documents are maintained and collate relevant statistics to provide to Manager for reporting.
    • Meet regularly with Programming, Planning, Reversioning, Ingest, Post Production and Library and Media Management counterparts to ensure optimum service provision.
    • Work collaboratively with other GT&O departments within the supply chain, i.e. MAM, Media Services, Post Production and Transmission ensuring working relationships and communication are of the highest standards
    • Working with the Content Ops Strategy roles providing solutions to the West & CEEMEA business for new initiatives and channel launches
    • Effectively contribute to the delivery of high profile projects e.g. channel and language launches, ensuring projects are delivered on time and risks and issues highlighted
    • Issue escalation in a timely manner
    • Ensuring all necessary Purchase Orders are raised and tracked correctly.
    • Oversee day to day management of language versioning for EMEA regions ensuring Language suppliers meet their target deadlines in accordance with TX date and contracted turnaround time

    Requirements

    • Proven track record in broadcast operations, in an international environment
    • Understanding of operational workflows
    • Good IT skills, IBMS, PALM experience preferable, or experience of similar programme management and scheduling systems
    • Experience of leading or supervising a team with proven results
    • The ability to use own initiative, to pre-empt potential problems and find solutions.
    • Effective communication skills and a diplomatic demeanor
    • Good interpersonal skills, good team player
    • Attention to detail essential
    • The ability to prioritise in a time pressured environment
    • Flexibility and ability to adapt to different demands
    • European Language an advantage
