  • Position Summary

    Job Purpose

    Management and implementation of content strategy for Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet, Discovery Asia, Discovery Kids, Asian Food Channel, Travel Channel, HGTV, Food Network, Eve, and DMAX brands across SEA across all platforms.


    Work with the content team to maximize the viewership and consumption of brands in all key markets, working closely with other key functions including insights, marketing, sales, creative communications, finance, and partner servicing to achieve desired results.


    Represent our brands both to internal and external stakeholders, as well as find and cultivate new content opportunities across SEA, including content production, and partnerships with leading players in the content, distribution, free tv, social and telco industries.


    Work closely with the Content Strategy and Acquisitions team on the sourcing and utilization of content across all program sources, both internal and external, as well as manage the day to day end to end operations of entertainment products.

    Core Responsibilities

    Management of Content Strategy & Operations for Discovery’s Brands

    1. Primary responsibility will be the management of the brands across SEA.
      • To develop deep knowledge of performance & inventory based on viewership and other research reports.
      • To develop knowledge of markets across SEA, to guide content planning strategies and content selection
      • To develop a deeper understanding of OTT viewing and preferences to guide the selection of programs offered on non-linear platforms


    1. Content management will encompass:
    2. US OPD and DNI Corporate productions
    3. Third party acquisitions
    4. Regional productions
    5. Work closely with Content Strategy and Acquisitions to ensure programs coming through the DCI/DNI pipeline meet our editorial needs, as well as address any regional sensitivities, providing input and feedback when relevant
    6. Maintain and track the content budgets to ensure the SEA local content spend for the networks is within budget, in order to meet our sourcing needs.
    7. Where designated, to represent brands for DNAP in dealings with internal & external constituents
    8. To have sufficient understanding of all activities in the content team to be able to step in for colleagues when they are away or overburdened
    9. To participate in portfolio development for SEA through analysis of market intelligence, programming knowledge and industry research.




    EDUCATION:  Degree holder


    EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 to 4 years in any industry



    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • A deep passion & discerning eye for content & entertainment products
    • Highly organized, with extreme attention to detail
    • High degree of adaptability and independence
    • Comfort with experimentation and risk-taking



    • Complexity of the role - ability to fully grasp the various networks' content and budget strategy, the performance of the programming on the networks, in order to plan accordingly within this function
    • Independent judgment – high level of independent judgment is needed in the evaluation of content for buy-in and acquisitions, as well as budgeting and planning
    • What level of decision making is required and what is the impact of the role - Decision-making will be required for 2nd pass of all content for buy-in and acquisitions, including the financial contributions.
