  • Position Summary

    Deliver a full Human Resources generalist service for Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific (DNAP) within corporate policies, procedures and guidelines and government regulations. The primary function of this role is to align and create strategic partnerships with the business and is responsible for a wide range of HR activities including talent attraction, management & development, employee on-boarding, job design, performance management, succession planning, learning & development, compensation & benefits administration and employee relations.


    • Partner and provide direct support to Senior Business Partner, Human Resources to deliver people strategies and programs that are aligned with the needs of the business.
    • Manage recruitment up to managerial level and advise hiring managers on job specifications and work within the recruitment budget to hire the best talent. Ensure all hires and changes in positions/salaries are signed off within DNAP/DCI guidelines.
    • Partner and provide support to Senior Business Partner, Human Resources to conduct and organize orientation, and ensure new hires are integrated in the company.
    • Partner with HR Centre of Excellence and work with line managers to communicate and explain DNAP pay structures and reward policies and advise as necessary. This includes making salary proposals for new hires and promotions as well as recommendations on remuneration package for relocation.
    • Work with the Senior Business Partner, Human Resources to identify and implement learning & development programs to support the organization’s business objectives, and career development of employees. Apply for training grants where applicable.
    • Work with line managers and Universities/Polytechnics on internship programmes in Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific.
    • Partner and provide support to Senior Business Partner, Human Resources in the implementation of mid-year and year-end performance management.
    • Resolve complex employee relation issues and address grievances within statutory and DNAP/DCI guidelines.
    • Conduct exit interview for staff up to managerial level.
    • Participate in industry and/or statutory surveys as and when needed.
    • Participate in global/regional project work as required.


    • Degree holder, with post-graduate Diploma in HR
    • More than 8 years’ HR experience, with 5 years’ managerial experience
    • User knowledge of HRIS system such as SAP
    • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English, and one other Asian language
    • Ability to interact with employees at all levels
    • Motivated, self-starter, able to prioritize assignments
    • Ability to work under pressure and balance the needs of a variety of employees
    • Good management skills
    • Ability to adapt to changes
