  • Position Summary

    This is an exciting opportunity to support the marketing of Discovery’s world-leading channel portfolio in the Middle East and Africa.

     

    Reporting in to the Head of Brand, and working closely with the Commercial Solutions Marketing Manager and Digital Manager as well as our teams across our international offices, you will develop and implement B2C marketing initiatives to support our channel brands and build our content franchises.

     

    You may be required to travel overseas at short notice from time to time.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with your colleagues across the on-air, commercial and research functions to execute the strategic marketing and communications plans for the product portfolio in Middle East & Africa.
    • Development of a B2C marketing calendar for both our brands and our content franchises. This should reflect both our commitments to our Pay-TV and digital affiliate partners, and our own strategic requirements
    • Deliver the B2C marketing calendar by developing and managing local marketing campaigns, predominantly in the experiential and digital space.
    • Be the day-to-day face of Discovery with our Pay-TV and digital affiliate partners, delivering updates and content assets to ensure a smooth working relationship and to make best use of their owned assets.
    • Work closely with the Digital, Commercial, PR, Creative, Programming and Media Planning teams to ensure alignment for all promotional opportunities
    • Regularly liaise with Media Planning and Content teams to understand key on-air promotables and subsequent promo campaigns. Suggest additional off-air support ideas as appropriate.
    • Contribute to ongoing development and optimisation of the content franchise strategy across the regions.
    • Participate in planning the yearly budget, raise POs and track expenditure
    • Liaise regularly with other marketing teams to facilitate collaboration, synergy and relationship building
    • Pro-actively seek opportunities to maximise marketing impact
    • Brief and manage internal and external agencies as required
    • Contribute to, and participate in, internal and external presentations
    • Focus all executions on cut-through/stand-out/innovative ideas that maximise ROI and benefits of scale across MEA
    • Work with research department in tracking effects of marketing activities and consumer behaviour
    • Work with all other Discovery Networks staff, agents, and relevant partners to foster a spirit of teamwork and co-operation
    • Develop knowledge of Middle East and Africa media markets in order to develop best-in-class marketing plans.

    Requirements

    • Educated to degree / professional qualification level or above
    • Proven experience in a marketing role/environment

    • Coordinating information and asset exchange across multiple locations
