Position Summary

 The purpose of this role is to supervise and support a team of staff in the preparation of the daily transmission schedule for the assigned networks, ensuring accuracy, completeness and delivery according to the proscribed schedule. To function as the team liaison to the Broadcast Schedule Operations Manager for direction on channel specifications to be carried out on each assigned set of networks.


  • Ensure their teams’ respective presentation schedules and their own, are completed to their full potential on a daily basis with all checks carried out
  • Responsible for ensuring all deadlines are met within the team and work distributed accordingly.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other depts. to facilitate element placement, secondary event placement and correct timing for each hour and for the entire transmission day. Examples include On Air Promotions, Ad Sales, New Media and Sponsorship.
  • Ensure break structures are implemented and commercial guidelines are adhered to.
  • A pro-active approach in analyzing and enhancing the on-air look and the development of their respective channels.
  • Work with the Copy Coordinator to resolve issues within the transmission schedule, providing assistance as needed and adding or removing copy as necessary to ensure that all required copy is accounted for prior to closing the daily presentation schedule.
  • Provide reports as required and requested by programming, on air promotion, sales and senior management
  • Work with the department Manager and Director to create hiring criteria and job descriptions. Play a key role in the hiring, training, mentoring and management of staff assigned to the team, working to bring each to their full potential.
  • Any other task that may be required and assigned by the Manager or Director that are appropriate and in line with the position.
  • Deputize for the BSO Manager as required






  • Strong experience in presentation scheduling, broadcast traffic or a related area. Some supervisory or management training or experience is required. A preference for cable and satellite, broadcast television or media agency backgrounds is expressed.
  • Computer literate with prior experience working on presentation software systems, preferably with IBMS knowledge, but also competent with excel and word.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work and lead in a pressurized environment.
  • Pro-active approach to problem solving.
  • Good Team Player and motivator.
