  • Position Summary

    The Operations Director will work closely with the SVP Chief of Staff and other EMEA SMT and RMT members to improve the overall performance of the EMEA business. The role will be focused on leading strategic thinking and management of complex projects, that span across multiple functions and territories, with significant emphasis on EMEA strategic and operational priorities.

     

    The position will demand a high degree of collaboration/partnership with members of different groups across EMEA, including senior business units, and corporate groups. Strong strategic planning, very strong project management and problem solving skills are critical, as well as sound analytical, communication, and people management skills. The ability to lead “stand-alone” project-based teams as well as work as a contributing member are essential.

     

    The Operations Director will be expected to:

     

    Proactively identify opportunities that improve the overall EMEA business (processes, decision making, relationships, operational synergies etc.) using data as well as their knowledge of the business to support their arguments

     

    Source the internal / external information and make sense of multiple points of data; condense this down into a compelling and easily understood ‘reason to change’

     

    Continuously develop relationships with EMEA SMT and RMT to better understand and support HUB priorities and identify new opportunities for improvement

    Responsibilities

    Strategic Planning and Problem Structuring - Guide strategic thinking to identify, prioritize, design, structure, and manage projects that support EMEA’s strategic and operational priorities

    • Maintain updated understanding of EMEA strategy and interactions among EMEA & DNI stakeholders
    • Lead and support identification, definition, and structuring of operational implications from EMEA strategic priorities
    • Lead the identification and structuring of issues/questions to be solved, in relation to the EMEA activities
    • Ultimately responsible for the timely & efficient execution of projects:
    • Prepare and manage project plans and timelines
    • Assemble representative project teams
    • Conduct status meetings
    • Facilitate dialog and connection between the teams & stakeholders
    • Resolve / escalate issues as required
    • Maintain updated documentation of projects
    • Complete analysis and supporting tasks where needed on projects (desk research, data analysis, process design, plan of action, organize and communicate findings)

     

    Develop, manage and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to help support planning and execution of strategic goals

    • Establish productive and collaborative relationships with the senior leadership
    • Establish strong links with SMT members, functional leaders, regional management, GT&O, etc
    • Facilitate flow of information between stakeholders (through both strong written and verbal communication)
    • Act as catalyst for effective alignment between groups: help expose needs, interdependencies, limitations, constraints, and mitigate potential silo approaches

     

    Ensure corporate alignment between EMEA and other geographies, all the whilst guaranteeing EMEA is represented and has a voice in operational decisions

    • Ensure corporate alignment between regional divisions so we are operating as ‘one team’ to execute new initiatives faster and better
    • Ensure EMEA gets the focus it requires from all corporate functions and has a share of voice in corporate decisions
