Position Summary

Key area of responsibility is the development, planning, execution and evaluation of sales and marketing activities for Discovery Networks in Middle East and Africa.


This person will build and develop day to day relationships with key external partners to deliver the sales strategy and meet revenue goals. To do this, close collaboration is also required with internal teams such as programming, digital, creative and the London based EMEA office to achieve effective workflows.


  • Developing and managing the relationship with our advertising representatives in Dubai and supporting the commercial manager for the same in Johannesburg
  • Working with the Head of Brand to develop direct client relationships as required
  • Developing creative and tailor-made media solutions ranging from spot, sponsorship, branded content to fully integrated communication campaigns
  • Providing best in class service in terms of client service and customer focus
  • Co-ordinate and execute special B2B events together with sales & marketing departments and agenciesBriefing and controlling of external partners like media and creative agencies, clients, service providers and production companies
  • Working with content team to develop and execute an integrated promotables calendar
  • Communicating highlights by creating sales decks and sales propositions to ensure key programmes are supported
  • Playing a key role in the formulation, planning and execution of off-air consumer, affiliate and ad sales marketing activities, both on brand & programming level
  • Functioning as a partner with internal departments including AdSales (Inventory Management, Brand Partnerships, Online), Research, Marketing (B2B and B2C) and Programming (OnAir and Media Planning) both locally in Dubai, Johannesburg, and internationally in Warsaw and London
  • Taking care of CRM, client and revenue reporting and aftersales service
    Execution of deals to ensure they are broadcast on time and on budget  OnAir and Online


  • At least 4 years TV and/or Media Agency experience, preferably including some sales experience and a commercial mindset
  • Proven track record in project management (internally and externally)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English language essential (written and verbal)
  • High level proficiency with current office applications, especially Excel and Power Point packages
  • Accurate, clear and service orientated
  • Attention to detail and creative with the ability to think laterally and come up with new and innovative ideas to strengthen our brands with the end user
  • Good team player
