We are looking for candidates who are passionate about social media, from creating original social content for Instagram Stories to driving engagement on Facebook. If this is you, come work with us on Discovery Network Turkey’s Marketing and Promotions Team for channels like TLC and Discovery Channel. We are looking for a Social Media Editor who will oversee the Discovery Networks social media accounts in Turkey and also help to improve websites. The main tasks of this role are:

Responsibilities

  • Will be responsible for creating monthly social media calendars and managing day-to-day activities/posts on Discovery Networks channels’ social media accounts and also work with local PR agencies where appropriate.
  • Help develop brand awareness and social & digital media strategies around the Channels and Channels’ franchise programmes.
  • Drive engagement and increase traffic on all digital platforms.
  • Follow all updates on social media platforms, new technologies and trends and adapting the proper ones.
  • Produce monthly reports to track the performance of social media accounts and the website. Find solutions to increase engagement and to improve website performance by using social media.
  • Managing the social & digital advertisements from beginning to end, with the knowledge of better optimisations.
  • Work with the ad sales teams to support brand partnerships, sponsor-driven projects and advertising opportunities
  • Work with the technical and wider digital teams to ensure all aspects of the websites are functioning and deliver excellent customer experiences and effective on social media.
  • Work with the International Digital Media team to localize global content to make it suitable for local needs
  • Produce content and provide timely updates to ensure the website optimally suits local priorities when needed.
  • Support the Marketing and Promotions Manager to ensure full digital and social media integration into the broader marketing activity
  • Make sure content is always proposed with a tone of voice consistent with brand

Requirements

 

  • 3-4 years’ experience in Social Media, Marketing or the Entertainment Industry.
  • Proven track record in content delivery for the digital and/or social media environment
  • Excellent writing skills: catchy headlines, effective call-to-action, captions, etc.
  • Solid experience with image/video editing and optimization, usability and accessibility standards
  • Able to understand TV and digital media platforms (web, social media, mobile apps, video-on-demand, connected TVs, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of rights & clearance issues in online and broadcast environments
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast moving matrix environment and to deliver multiple projects to budget and deadline
  • A true team player
  • Fluency in Turkish and English

 

Technical Requirements

 

 Essential: Microsoft Office; Adobe Photoshop; experience with Wordpress and CMS; analytics, research and reporting tools (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.)

Desirable: working knowledge of video editing, XML, XHTML, CSS, Flash.
