The primary responsibility of this role is to provide accounting support and management for the Discovery Turkey Office including preparation of annual statutory accounts, monthly management accounts, supervision of Accounts Payable, Billing and credit control, month/year end closure (analysis and reporting of financials). Reporting into the Financial Controller the position will work closely with the local finance team, GBS (Shared Services) team and corporate functions.

• Handle full spectrum of financial and cost accounting role e.g. AR, AP, GL, etc.
• Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations
• Perform full set of accounts and ensure timely closing of accounts.
• Perform cost tracking, revenue tracking, monitoring and controls.
• Responsible for timely monthly financial statements, payments, cash-flow management reporting for submission to HQ
• Review and approve journal entries
• Perform cash flow forecasting, and work closely with the operations and project teams in analyzing margins, variances and cost analysis.
• Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies for the set up.
• Support the Financial Controller in ensuring that intercompany cost allocations are in line with management agreements and transfer pricing policy
• Responsible for month-end close processes and time-table
• Work for group monthly reporting process with strong cooperation of other departments and use and improve system knowledge (NetSuite, Blackline, etc.)
• Responsibility for all balances: performing monthly B/S and P&L reviews, ensuring all reconciliations are completed monthly – for statutory and group reporting
• Closing year in NetSuite responsibilities
• Supervising the preparation of VAT, Corporation Tax and payroll returns, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Managing local Turkey accounting and work close with local tax advisors
• Preparing and up-loading all general accounting journals for month close, including but not limited to: accruals, payroll, amortization, FX reconciliation, prepaid, TP, etc.
• Working with PWC auditors for statutory reporting for all juridical entities audited
• Ad hoc tasks required

• At least 5 years’ experience in accounting
• Strong working knowledge of accounting standards for Turkey
• Strong technical and analytical skills in financial analysis and excel
• Self-starter/works well without immediate supervision
• Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
• Ability to focus on results and details to maintain highest standards in both internal and external customer satisfaction
• Strong interpersonal and organization skills
• Excellent level of business in English
• Interests in TV market

Desirable

• Media industry experience
• Familiarity with dealing with off-site management
• US and UK GAAP experience

Education

• Graduate in Finance, Accounting
• ACCA qualification preferred (or equivalent)
