Position Summary

Responsible for reviewing Spanish customized programming for DLA/USH, assisting management in casting selection as required, liaising with internal and external contacts for issues related to assigned programs

Responsibilities

1. Audio and Editorial Quality Control of all assigned dubbed and subtitled programming in Latin American Spanish
2. Assist in selection of voices for dubbed programs
3. Review, edit, write, fact-check, research and update scripts and glossaries
4. Review translation accuracy and adequate adaptation of English scripts into Latin American Spanish, checking for proper grammatical usage and correct terminology
5. Review subtitled files for spelling, translation accuracy and proper adaptation
6. Check for proper pronunciation, quality of voices and final audio mix (competing levels and quality)
7. Review Spanish graphic lists as needed
8. Support production teams in project development
9. Monitor editorial content for inappropriate cross-cultural words, gestures or symbols
10. Use and update Language Customization databases.
11. Thorough follow up with dubbing studios and internal departments on pending issues

Requirements

* Three years’ experience in TV production, audio & video post-production or related fields
* Degree in Communications, Journalism, TV Production, Latin American Studies, Translation or equivalent work experience in a Latin American Spanish-language dominant environment
* Good editorial and creative criteria
* Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of social and cultural sensitivities throughout Latin America
* Capable of working independently and in groups
* Able to work well under pressure
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English
* Excellent organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes
