Eurosport Digital are excited to be recruiting the newly established role of Social & Content Marketing Director. The successful candidate will sit in the ES Digital leadership team and will drive the strategic partnership marketing plans for Eurosport Player for different markets across Europe.

 

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Social & Content Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing an audience-centric content marketing and social strategy that supports our marketing and business objectives, leading the development of content initiatives in all forms to build awareness, consideration and preference for the Eurosport Player.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a strategy that creates and curates interesting, innovative, funny and relevant content that will connect our brand with target groups around Europe across owned and paid social and digital channels.

     

  • Leads creative development and manages execution of breakthrough content strategies supporting sales and marketing goals; a catalyst for new ideas and not afraid to challenge conventional wisdom.

     

  • Understands the principals of optimizing content for search, user experience and content curation across all publishing channels.

     

  • Ensures ongoing measurement of content performance (acquisition, engagement and conversion) and reports on effectiveness.

     

  • Identifies opportunities to leverage programs and maximize ROI across business areas, as appropriate.

     

  • Hires, develops, leads and inspires a team of internal and external content creators to achieve the stated goals.

     

  • Collaborates across business units and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and deliver results.

     

  • Spearheads, manages and oversees social partnerships both within Discovery and across the web with like-minded brands

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field. MBA a plus.

     

  • Passion for all forms of Sports entertainment, digital distribution and the implementation of new business / digital models.

     

  • Proven track record in building and growing a team.

     

  • Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels.

     

  • Strong proven experience as a respected leader in multichannel content creation.

     

  • Experience creating compelling stories/messages for specific target demographics.

     

  • Proven experience hitting key social KPIs: social engagement & audience traffic growth

     

  • Has a “nose” for the story and how to tell it across multiple mediums.

     

  • Intuitively understands what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it.

     

  • Multilingual abilities a plus

 

 

Key Relationships

 

· The role will be an integral member of the Marketing as well as the wider ES Digital team and be responsible for leading the work to drive ES Digital acquisition and growth plans.

 

Other Key Relationships

 

· Work with marketing, regional commercial, product, PR, finance, legal, operations and agencies to ensure marketing and commercial plans are communicated and executed as well as to drive awareness of the results across the wider business.
