Position Summary

Over 25 years, Eurosport has established itself as a household name for live sports. Now, Discovery has re-energised Eurosport to connect fans and athletes around the sports they love.


The new Eurosport shares great sport stories of human perseverance, achievement and inspiration told by the best experts. Eurosport digital is a high growth area of the business, encompassing all of our direct to consumer platforms including the Eurosport Player, and our social media activities.


The Strategy & Insight Analyst will be an integral member of the ES Digital and Strategy Planning team, supporting the Senior Management Team in developing and articulating the strategy of the Eurosport Digital business.


This role will work closely with all departments of the Eurosport and Eurosport digital organisation, including commercial, product, content and sales & marketing, and rights acquisitions. This is a fantastic opportunity within a dynamic, growing and ambitious organisation that is looking to redefine how sport fans engage with their passions.



Supporting varied digital strategic initiatives:


  • Business planning of key digital development initiatives (rights acquisitions. investments, JVs, acquisitions)
  • Strategic planning for Discovery’s Eurosport digital business
  • Creative development of strategic pitches to internal & external stakeholders
  • Market and competitor analysis
  • Business development / deal execution


Specific responsibilities include:


  • To contribute creative and strategic thinking on projects and to challenge existing perceptions
  • To develop robust analyses to drive strategic insights
    • Use creativity to consider analytical problems from a range of angles
    • Build scenario-driven models


  • To conduct research, gather input from all relevant teams and develop knowledge on relevant business area
    • Liaise with regional and/or central teams to collate, verify and interrogate data
    • Sourcing market data


  • To create compelling presentations and/or memos that deliver strategic insights and actionable recommendations, including:
    • Structured narrative and storyline flow
    • Build high quality, succinct presentations under tight deadlines
    • Present findings to senior stakeholders and/or clients


  • Support ad-hoc requests from Senior Management on emerging issues


  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills, logical reasoning and intellectual curiosity
  • A passion for digital media and strong interest in sports
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work autonomously, managing multiple projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Team player and confident to liaise with much more senior colleagues
  • Previous experience working in a consultative or analytical position
