Position Summary



Key member of the Inventory Management team responsible for providing sales planning and support services to Discovery’s German ad sales businesses


  • Service designated agencies and their clients ensuring that their campaigns are planned, booked and optimized quickly and efficiently
  • All campaigns to be executed and delivered within acceptable margin of operational errors (<3%)
  • Work closely with the Research team to develop full understanding and use of ratings information to maximize impact on planning campaigns
  • Creation and delivery of daily commercial break files to Presentation/Transmission within agreed timelines
  • Coordinate the coding and delivery of all commercial copy to the Transmission Centre within agreed timelines
  • Viewing and checking of all commercial copy to ensure compliance with German Broadcast Advertising regulations
  • Reconciliation of ‘as run’ logs against plan and make good of campaigns where necessary
  • Provide data to the Sales team to be used in post campaign analysis
  • Provide first class servicing to designated agencies with the aim of maximizing share of their media and marketing budgets and attaining maximum client satisfaction
  • Daily management of inventory and communication of availability to agencies and their clients to maximize airtime sales
  • Assist agency buying departments in the identification of relevant and attractive airtime and airtime packages
  • Research both client and agency business, gathering all relevant information and ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their business
  • Work within the parameters of the channel’s commercial policy


  •  2-3 year experience in planning advertising campaigns in target markets
  • Fluency in German/English language – written and verbal
  • Team Player
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Multitasking abilities
  • Strong communications and coordinating skills
  • IT competence
  • Deep familiarity with sales planning system (Mydas) and Excel




  • Ability to think independently and creatively
  • Ability to determine best practices to achieve maximum value of our inventory in delivering campaigns
  • Ability to accommodate and prioritize multiple requests from a large sales team
