Position Summary

Discovery Eurosport has secured the rights from the International Olympic Committee to manage the distribution within Europe of the 2018 – 2024 Olympic Games.   Discovery Eurosport is seeking to appoint an Olympic Resource Operations Coordinator who will assist in delivering requirements for the project on behalf of Discovery Eurosport. The role will report to the Senior Manager, Olympic Resource Operations.


Core Duties


The Olympic Resource Ops Coordinator will leverage strong analytics and project management skills to help prepare, direct and manage various logistics related to Olympic Resource Operations including, health and safety, medical, security and the identification and on-boarding of local Korean hires. The overall deliverables will support the production operation in PyeongChang, South Korea for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games


  1. Become familiar with the Health and Safety guidelines the local organising committee and other organisations, as appropriate, intend to put in place along with the timeline for implementation of these arrangements.
  2. Support the Senior Manager, Olympic Resource Operations, in identifying and overseeing vendor to assess risk in environment, equipment and processes in Discovery Eurosport working areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards to secure safety of employees, crew and contributors.
  3. With the Senior Manager, Olympic Resource Operations, develop health and safety documentation and organise any personnel training, if required.
  4. Become familiar with the medical arrangements and implementation timelines of the local organising committee and other organisations.
  5. Support the Senior Manager, Olympic Resource Operations, in working with the Discovery medical team to review provided medical arrangements and to establish the extent of any additional medical personnel/facilities which it may be prudent to provide in the host country.
  6. Assist the Discovery medical team in development and delivery of any additional resources e.g. base, on-site staff, supplies, processes.
  7. Work with the Discovery medical team to establish guidance for those onsite regarding recommended vaccinations or those required to travel with medication. Oversee the communication of this information to relevant personnel. 
  8. Develop critical communications/key messages to be delivered to personnel through Discovery’s games management system including FAQ’s and pre-travel guidance.
  9. Serve as GMS technical SME developing standardised reporting and systems expertise to support needs of key stakeholders across business.
  10. Act as primary point of contact to Discovery security team responsible for development and delivery of production security measures. Ensure all operational information is successfully communicated to aide security planning.
  11. Support Senior Manager, Olympic Resource Operations in developing, documenting and communicating processes and procedures to support successful collaboration amongst health & safety, medical and security.
  12. Act as direct liaison to 3rd party payroll provider in host country representing Discovery Eurosport needs to ensure successful recruitment, identification, interviewing, contracting and continued engagement of local personnel.



  • Experience with health and safety requirements for production events.
  • Recent experience and knowledge of the international broadcast industry, as well as Olympic or multi-sport events.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Attention to detail essential.
  • Excellent organisational / administrative skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work from the host country for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends when required.
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of other languages, especially Korean, may be useful.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, Keynote etc.
